How it works
- Copy the video link: Share, then Copy under the video, or the address bar on a computer.
- Paste it above. We read the video's title, channel, date and description through YouTube's official API.
- We match it to the episode in the show's public podcast feed and transcribe that audio. Nothing is downloaded from YouTube.
This works for podcasts: shows that publish on YouTube and as audio in podcast apps, which is nearly every big one. A video that only exists on YouTube has no podcast feed, so there is nothing for us to match.
Better than the auto captions
YouTube's own transcript panel shows its automatic captions in short fragments, with no punctuation on many videos, and only inside YouTube. Ours is the whole conversation as readable text that you can copy in one go or download.
- Formats: plain text, text with timestamps, .srt and .vtt subtitles, and word-level JSON.
- Price: $1 an episode, any length, yours to keep.
